What ooh!Media does
Three modes, one workflow: design messages, schedule when they appear, and manage the displays they appear on.
Design messages
Text, images, animations
Schedule
By hour, day, week or year
Manage displays
Auto-detect + multi-display
Message Editor
The Message Editor is where you compose what your display shows. Each message is built from layers:
- Background - solid color, image, or animation from the Media Library
- Text on the background - overlay text directly on the background layer
- Text on the timeline - text that scrolls, fades, or holds across frames
You can add symbols, the date, the time, the temperature, counters that count up or down, and animated images. Multiple text boxes can appear in different areas of the display. Stream multiple animated images together. Split the display in sections, with an image on one side and text on the other.
Live data on screen
- Date, time and temperature update automatically
- Counters for elapsed time, countdowns, or production tallies
- RSS Ticker - pull a list of items from a feed
- RSS Variable - pull a single specific item from a feed into a message
- Transparent text - show an image or animation inside the letters of your text
Media Library
The Media Library holds reusable backgrounds, graphics and animations sorted by display size. Drag any item directly into a message.
Scheduler
A schedule decides when each message plays on each display. You can mix messages that play all day with messages that only appear on the first of the month, or only between specific hours, or only on weekdays. Plan a single week or an entire year.
Each display has its own schedule. Add and remove messages as you go. Inactivate a message to stop it playing without losing it; reactivate it later. Send the schedule to the display directly from the scheduler.
Display management
Plug a display into your network and ooh!Media detects it automatically over Plug 'n Play. The application reads the display's properties - size, firmware, settings - so previews on screen match what will actually show.
Manage multiple displays from the same workstation. Each display gets its own schedule and its own message library. Send messages directly to a display for a quick test, or schedule them for ongoing use.
Sign Options Editor
Configure each display from inside ooh!Media: brightness, sound, default behaviors, network settings, and TCP/IP properties.
